Co-Ordinated Clothing

This season a number of brands have delivered some quality all-over prints and patchwork constructions that cross between tops and bottoms. We have styles that can be worn together that create a bold twin-set or more easily be worn separately against a neutral coloured short or a crisp white t-shirt. We are encouraging you to co-ordinate your colours, match bold summer prints and let inhibitions loose.

Our good chums at YMC have transformed its Malick shirt and Shaka swim shorts into a printed palm tree twosome for SS18. The shirt has been made from a garment-washed, cotton and linen slub blend and with its camp collar and cork buttons this shirt is unbelievably funky. To complete the ensemble the shorts feature the same printed pattern and are arguably the best swim shorts of the season.

Universal Works is a name that always enjoys experimenting with fabrics, prints and central to its summer collection are wacky prints, wicked materials and wonderful patchworks. This season its Road shirts are some of the best we have ever seen; pieced-work constructions, seasonal prints, Ikat woven cottons, soft seersuckers and mid-century-inspired geometric patterns. A few of these wonders double-up to its Walk shorts and Beach swim shorts.

Texas-based Stan Ray has produced potentially one of the coolest prints of the season, re-working the well-known paisley print. The Kelapa Bandana shirt and accompanying shorts have been made from a silky-smooth, indigo-dyed 100% rayon fabric. A retro camp collar, a relaxed cut and a single chest pocket, this shirt is craving a hot summer’s day.
