Celebrating adidas ‘ORIGINALS’ With Leeds Caribbean & African Community Centre

Celebrating adidas ‘ORIGINALS’ With Leeds Caribbean & African Community Centre Launch Event – 23.08.24

We gave the world an original, you gave us a thousand back.

HIP & adidas Originals would like to invite you as a guest to celebrate the Leeds Caribbean & African Community Centre as ‘ORIGINALS’ as we come together on Friday 23rd August at the Centre.

The Caribbean & African Community Centre is a proud figure of Leeds’ cultural architecture.  A cornerstone of community in Chapeltown since 1983 and a shining light of art, music and education. The Centre has legendary status as a venue, from the early soundsystem dances in the ’80s to representing a home of dubstep, dancehall and jungle with the famous SubDub event that began in ’98. The Centre is closely linked to the Leeds West Indian Carnival – founded by Arthur France MBE in 1967, uniting people of all races to celebrate Caribbean culture. Another key figure in the Chapeltown community is Claude Hendrickson MBE – inspiring the city with his work across regeneration, housing, education, youth clubs and youth mentoring.

Friday 23rd August, 7pm-12pm midnight
