Originally from Minnesota, Joe Garvey is a New York-based visual artist working around a wide variety of assorted media exploring the nuances of contemporary American life – Joe works between both Brooklyn and Catskills in upstate New York to combine the energy of both areas into his work.
 
Joe took HIP on a typical daily route around his neighbourhood in Brooklyn, dropping in at some of his daily spots such as 109 Montrose, Young Coffee, Arena Embroidery and Blue Sun – which are all parts of the thriving creative scene in Williamsburg.
