As we enter the depths of Winter, the tastemakers at online platform and physical publication eye_C Magazine have selected 10 pieces from our latest deliveries to prepare you for the intrepid weather we’re accustomed to during the Autumn/Winter season. Serving as a demonstration of HIP’s diverse wares, we see outerwear from Ten C in the form of their Survival Down Jacket, fleeced goods from Universal Works and woolen throws from Pendleton.
OrSlow Fur Hooded Fleece Jacket
This military-inspired fleece silhouette from OrSlow is crafted from a deep pile fleece that boasts a warming blend of polyester and acrylic. Cut to a unique and slightly oversized swing shape, this garment provides unrivalled levels of warmth and comfort. Subtle details include a faux fur trim hood, two side pockets and zip fastening.
From their Autumn/Winter ‘20 collection, Beams Plus’ Striped Cardigan epitomises all cues of inspiration from the Japanese label. An elegant yet casual accompaniment to an outfit, the cardigan sports a fleece outer layer, elasticated cuffs and woven chest pocket. There are different shades of brown stripes layered across a cream base.
Utilising methods of traditional Japanese craftsmanship, Beams Plus introduces this two-pack of grey socks that will bolster your outfit. Made in Japan from a soft cotton mix, they come in grey and feature a contrasting heel, cuff and toe, and Beams Plus branding under the foot.
Universal Works Lancaster Fleece Jacket
If there isn’t already a fleece in your rotation, then look no further than Universal Works’ contemporary take on this workwear icon: their Lancaster Fleece Crewneck. The jacket is constructed using an incredibly soft fleece material and features two frontal pockets and full button closure.

Taking utilitarian design cues from archive hiking and military boots, the YEEZY 500 features a smooth neoprene and shaggy suede based upper alongside the usual stitching, laces, and a supportive bulky adiPRENE sole seen in the YEEZY 500 line.

Awake NY x Levi’s AW20 Collection
In conjunction with the release of their highly anticipated AW20 collection, Awake NY have partnered with Levi’s to create a limited edition, upcycled collection of patchwork Levi’s® Trucker Jackets and 501® Jeans. Perfectly capturing the New York DIY aesthetic, transcending cultures and bringing it to life through timeless and thoughtful collections – Awake NY brings new life to Levi’s icons with patches and panels of deadstock fabrics to give them a streetwear twist and New York flavour, with two heroes in the collection being the 501® and the Type III Trucker, all from the Levi’s® Authorized Vintage program.
The base of the collection before the customization work is done begins with the Levi’s® Authorized Vintage indigo Type III Trucker in a classic fit and the Levi’s® Authorized Vintage indigo 501® in its iconic straight-leg fit. Through a hand-sewn process, patches of colourfully patterned, upcycled men’s shirting material with black thread to highlight the imperfect, natural look of hand stitching have been added. The result is a set of eye-popping, head-turning pieces that perfectly blend Levi’s classic style with Awake NY’s and streetwear sensibility and capture both brand’s DIY spirit, with each garment is a unique one-off piece you can cherish for years to come.
The lookbook for the collection was shot in Phillidelphia by renowned Philly born and past Awake collaborator Quil Lemons. Speaking on the collection, Awake NY founder Angelo Baque stated on his Instagram “Thank you from the bottom of my heart Quil for sharing and shooting your family with us for this project. The objective of this shoot was to start shifting the perception of the fragmented Black and Brown family that has been portrayed for too long in mainstream media. We are creating the new here and taking control of our narratives. Vulnerability and love amongst young men presented at a high level and not through trauma”.
