adidas Originals by C.P. Company

For decades now C.P. Company and adidas Originals are two brands that have been worn and idolised by football fans up and down the country both on match day and away from the terraces. This autumn these two names make the union official with a debut collaboration that celebrates the enduring ardour of ‘casual culture’. Two brands that share values, passions and product innovation, adidas Originals by C.P. Company sees several iconic styles remastered for AW18. Football has changed drastically over the years but the casual culture’s adoration for these two labels has been a constant presence.

Within this special capsule collection, a selection of favourite ‘terrace’ styles have been featured that includes one-off iterations of the Samba, Tobacco, Marathon as well as the relatively-new Kamanda silhouette. For the apparel the highlights are the adidas Originals Beckenbauer jacket reworked by the Italian powerhouse and one of C.P. Company’s google jackets tweaked into an Explorer jacket using an Italian-dyed C.P. Company fabric with dual-branded detailing at the watch-viewer lens.

adidas Originals x Pharrell ‘Afro Pack’

The adidas Originals and Pharrell Williams collaborative ‘Hu’ series continues as we head into AW18 with a brand-new East African-inspired ‘Afro Pack’. With the belief that sport can transform lives, this latest drop features adidas performance with striking colours, bold patterns and a free-flowing aesthetic that is associated with East Africa, a country where running is a way of life.

Just like previous collaborations, footwear is central to the story with two exclusive styles landing in the form of the SOLARHU NMD and the Tennis HU V2. In sync with the East African vibe bold colours feature throughout both the footwear and apparel including aqua, scarlet, yellow, purple and green.

The SOLARHU NMD has all the typical features including Primeknit fabrics, a trail-inspired outsole, a TPU lace cage, a Boost midsole and contrasting competitive running bib-style strips at the front with the words ‘MOTHER’, ‘LAND’, ‘EMPOWER’, ‘INSPIRE’ and the Swahili words ‘MIELE’ (forever) and ‘MBELE’ (forward), all spelled in alphanumeric text. The Tennis Hu completes the footwear line-up that is again reworked with more East African inspiration seen via subtle amends to the Primeknit uppers, now designed to create a handmade overall feel. To complete the collection is a jacket that combines adidas’ innovation with the collection’s linguistic flow creating a lightweight, double-layered woven track top.

Engineered Garments x Baracuta

For the AW18 season the famed British label Baracuta and Daiki Suzuki’s Engineered Garments collaborate refining two of Baracuta’s most infamous lines. The resulting capsule collection, a first between these two, brings the G9 and G4 Harrington-style jackets into the spotlight. A two-piece collaboration that strips back two icons, reworking them slightly, delivering muted black and navy colours across the two styles.

Arriving in limited numbers both the G9 and G4 jackets have been made with the original ‘archive’ fit as well as introducing new amends such as revised collar button holes, raglan sleeves with overstated gussets, side cinches, two-way zips, Engineered Garments branding at the inside pocket and branded hardware throughout.
