visvim Christo Shaman Folk Sandal

The signature ‘Christo’ sandals by visvim reference duo Christo and Jeanne-Claude – famed for their artwork wrapping large scale landmarks in sculpture-like fabric. Hiroki Nakamura draws similarities with the protection offered by a shoe, imparting this idea on the traditionally open sandal. The ‘Shaman-Folk’ version is made with luxurious suede decorated with rustic fringes and sat above a contoured footbed.

Clarks Originals: How We Wear – With Friends Of HIP

To showcase Clarks Originals for SS24 we connected with Friend Of HIP and local Manchester creative Aaliyah, highlighting the individuality of the Wallabee – a shoe that has found its place across era-defining British subcultures since the ’60s.
“My name is Aaliyah, I am a 22 years old creative born and raised in Manchester. I come from a mixed background of Chinese and Jamaican, I am heavily influenced by my mix of cultures.
I was introduced to Hip Hop, R&B and Soul by my dad, who is a DJ. My parents would always have the singer Aaliyah all over the house, her mix of femininity and masculinity stuck with me. My style is mixed with my love for basketball, I started playing young and like how much detail they put into matching shoes with your jersey colours.
As for films, its so refreshing and eye opening to see a story from positions you would never be in. My favourites are A Bronx Tale, for the great life lessons. Waves for the great music and La Haine. Lately I’ve been enjoying jazz music and instrumentals, it helps me appreciate music way more.
Clarks are a big staple in my wardrobe and household. I also remember my brothers wearing them and wanting to copy them. The Wallabee is a timeless shoe for me, I usually throw them on with some good denim and I’m good to go.”

Soon after faces in the fashion industry began to wear the brand, and since then it has collaborated with names from Stüssy to Dover Street Market and OUR LEGACY WORKSHOP.
