HIP SS22 Luxury Editorial

Our Luxury edit for SS22 at HIP showcases a variety of contemporary labels, each with their own unique version of craftsmanship. With expressive silhouettes, premium materials and attention to detail at the forefront, each piece in our new curation is filled with meaning and character.

No brand reflects this more than Angelo Urratia’s 4SDesigns – changing the landscape of contemporary menswear with an ambitious project that combines classic, luxurious Italian tailoring with American sportswear. Another label with a fascinating interpretation of clothing is Visvim. Seeking to create “future vintage”, its founder Hiroki Nakamura travels the world seeking new and old methods of weaving, dyeing, and assembling textiles. The result is rugged yet timeless clothing built to stand the test of time.

With sustainability an increasing concern for modern labels, Story mfg. have carved their own path, finding a more “more authentic, fulfilling and kind approach to fashion”. Using organic materials, natural dyes and traditional methods of craft, Story’s aesthetic manages to appear both vintage and progressive.

Within segments of luxury clothing, functionality is becoming a must. Labels marry classic motifs with contemporary designs, creating new conceptions of utilitarianism. One of the most famous examples of this is the late Massimo Osti’s C.P Company, who continue to break boundaries with traditional military-inspired silhouettes, technical materials and dye-processing techniques. A newcomer to menswear in recent years is Los Angeles-based Reese Cooper, whose eponymous label recontextualizes vintage Americana and outdoor styles – Cooper reimagines them with sophistication, presenting each collection as a chapter within a wider narrative.
