Community Culture: Light A Box Leeds – Reebok x Eames

To highlight the launch of the Reebok x Eames Club C 85 – we visited Jake at Light A Box Leeds who specialise in crafting hand-built light-boxes designed to brighten up your brand, home or event. Based in Leeds City Centre only a short walk from our flagship store, Light A Box have become renowned for their high grade work with recent clients including vintage store 194 Local, brewery Amity Brew Co and Leeds ramen spot House Of Fu.

Reebok present the first landmark collaboration with Eames Office – using Reebok’s Club C to connote Eames’ design vision of timeless, classic design to adapt effortlessly into everyday life. The shoes feature a premium luxe garment leather upper, plush terry lining and are finished with a woven Eames label and custom sockliner to give a distinctive timeless vibe.

Charles Eames and Ray Eames were best known for their ground-breaking furniture creations for Herman Miller and Vitra, the husband-and-wife team redefined post-war American design and shaped the 20th century with their playful yet purposeful sensibility. Eames design represents a belief that the objects in our everyday life should enrich our existence and transcend utilitarian function to connect with people on a personal level. The Eames motto – “Take your pleasure seriously,” highlights the fact that form and function are inseparable paths to joyous ways of living, making the Club C a suitable everyday timeless canvas to celebrate the life and work of the Eames Office.

The Reebok x Eames Club C 85 is online now.

New Balance x Stone Island RC_ELITE V2

New Balance join forces with Stone Island for the beginning of a new long-term partnership that sees the reinterpretation of the innovative RC ELITE v2 racing shoe. The shoe’s highly breathable upper represents the combination of antithetical elements, between distinctive elements of the New Balance heritage aesthetic and cutting-edge materials and techniques, such as the mesh construction and application of the logo, which are both 3D. The midsole uses lightweight FuelCell technology and a full carbon fibre plate, offering the highest energy return with propulsive transition and 360-degree functionality, designed to allow for faster running. The 3D knit upper provides lightweight structure and features a thin, super breathable, race-ready vamp. The shoe is finished with strategic 3D printed medial and lateral branding with New Balance graphics on the right foot and the Stone Island Compass logo on the left foot, whilst New Balance’s highest rebound midsole compound combines with the full-length carbon fibre plate for maximised energy return.

The New Balance x Stone Island RC_ELITE V2 launches at HIP on 22/10/21 online via raffle.

Nike Dunk Low Retro ‘Goldenrod’ & ‘Midas Gold’

Nike continues the dunk revival run with a new offering of throwback colourways, each finished in a classic leather upper. Inspired by the original Dunks of 1985, these ‘Goldenrod’ and ‘Midas Gold’ iterations arrive each with a bold two-tone colourway, alongside a court focused rubber outsole and heritage inspired tongue. Arguably the most recognisable of the college-inspired dunks, the Goldenrod has also been dubbed the “Iowa” or “Wu-Tang” colourway, thanks to the colourway’s resemblance to the midwestern college and the logo of the iconic hip-hop group.

The Nike Dunk Low Retro ‘Goldenrod’ & ‘Midas Gold’ launches at HIP on 10/10/21 online via raffle.
