New Balance x Stone Island RC_ELITE V2

New Balance join forces with Stone Island for the beginning of a new long-term partnership that sees the reinterpretation of the innovative RC ELITE v2 racing shoe. The shoe’s highly breathable upper represents the combination of antithetical elements, between distinctive elements of the New Balance heritage aesthetic and cutting-edge materials and techniques, such as the mesh construction and application of the logo, which are both 3D. The midsole uses lightweight FuelCell technology and a full carbon fibre plate, offering the highest energy return with propulsive transition and 360-degree functionality, designed to allow for faster running. The 3D knit upper provides lightweight structure and features a thin, super breathable, race-ready vamp. The shoe is finished with strategic 3D printed medial and lateral branding with New Balance graphics on the right foot and the Stone Island Compass logo on the left foot, whilst New Balance’s highest rebound midsole compound combines with the full-length carbon fibre plate for maximised energy return.

Nike Dunk Low Retro ‘Goldenrod’ & ‘Midas Gold’

Nike continues the dunk revival run with a new offering of throwback colourways, each finished in a classic leather upper. Inspired by the original Dunks of 1985, these ‘Goldenrod’ and ‘Midas Gold’ iterations arrive each with a bold two-tone colourway, alongside a court focused rubber outsole and heritage inspired tongue. Arguably the most recognisable of the college-inspired dunks, the Goldenrod has also been dubbed the “Iowa” or “Wu-Tang” colourway, thanks to the colourway’s resemblance to the midwestern college and the logo of the iconic hip-hop group.

Community Culture: Miles Robinson Of Pizza Fella – Kestin AW21

To highlight our latest delivery from HIP favourites Kestin for AW21 – we visited Miles Robinson Of Pizza Fella, a culinary institution within the city and a go-to for us at HIP HQ. Situated just a stones throw from our Leeds flagship store, Pizza Fella was first born after Miles developed a passion for Neapolitan pizza after a visit to Naples. Following a few years of serving up authentic slices out of the back of his converted Citroen H Van named “Claude” at various pop-ups and events, Pizza Fella found it’s feet with a permanent home on Vicar Lane in the form of a stripped back, industrial-inspired venue which seats up to 60 people. Offering a robust and thought out menu of wood-fired pizzas, each handmade using Italian Caputo flour, San Marzano tomatoes and Fior di Latte – it’s clear Pizza Fella draw strong inspiration from Italy with their toppings, but also try to make the most of local British producers wherever they can – resulting in the best Pizza in town.
Founded in 2015 by designer Kestin Hare with almost 20 year’s industry experience, Kestin aims to redefine modern Scottish design by seamlessly blending innovation with tradition. For AW21, Kestin present their latest collection which stays true to the brands heritage of drawing from workwear, military, sports and outdoor wear to create clothing which is functional, subtle and distinctive. For Kestin, responsible manufacturing is key with around 50% of every collection being made in the UK. Standout pieces in Kestin’s AW21 collection worn by Miles includes the Neist Fleece, Rosyth Shirt and Derby Smock.
