Talking Berghaus With Bags Of Flavor
Located on the corner of Tib Street, Manchester – Bags Of Flavor was originally founded in 2000 by vintage and heritage enthusiast Rich Gill. Specialising in curating and selling his archive to people of all ages, Rich has accumulated a vast knowledge in brands he has bought and sold over the years. We met up with Rich in his store recently to talk all things Berghaus ahead of the Dean Street Collection launch.
Over the past 15 years, Rich has accumulated one of the most vast Berghaus collections about. Talking on his love for the brand and its history, Rich said “I’ve probably sold thousands of Berghaus Jackets over twenty years, it’s always been a brand that I’ve really enjoyed because they’ve got such a diverse back catalogue of stuff, I think Berghaus has stood the test of time because they were using the best quality fabrics that they could at the time and they obviously had amazing designers designing these things.”

adidas SPEZIAL Blackburn Event Recap
Last week we went to Gary Aspden’s hometown Blackburn for the private opening night of the adidas Originals SPEZIAL exhibition event. Showcasing over 1200 pairs of rare gems from the past and present, the event coincided with the launch of the 200 made ‘Nightsafe’ Blackburn and the full AW19 SPEZIAL launch this coming Thursday 11/10/19.
Footwear on display included original Micropacers, full City Series collections, signed pairs from the likes of Ian Brown, Kate Moss and the Beastie Boys alongside newer adidas releases such as collaborations with BAPE.
The adidas Originals SPEZIAL exhibition is running until October 20th with all proceeds and donations going towards Nightsafe, a Blackburn based charity which helps homeless people aged 16-24.

adidas Spezial AW19
Following on from the frenzied launch of the Liam Gallagher Padiham, Gary Aspden’s adidas Originals Spezial line is back with a new quartet of footwear and apparel for the AW19 season. Featuring a wide variety of silhouettes taking reference from the adidas Originals archives, the first drop of the season features the SL80 SPZL, Winterhill Adi-Tex SPZL, Hoddlesden SPZL alongside the general release edition of the Blackburn SPZL.
Inspired by winter on the terraces of British football grounds and consisting of utilitarian and hard-wearing product designed to combat the elements, the latest SPEZIAL release blends adidas’ rich heritage in sportswear with modern technology, tooling and fabrics.
To celebrate the launch of the collection, Gary Aspden will be hosting a Spezial Collection Exhibition at Blackburn Cotton Exchange. Featuring 1500 rare past releases, the event will also include the release of the limited to 200 pairs Blackburn SPZL ‘Nightsafe’ – with all proceeds going towards the Nightsafe charity which supports young homeless people in Blackburn.
