Community Culture: Where The Light Gets In

To highlight Engineered Garments SS23 Women’s collection – this season at HIP we visited restaurant manager Kemi at MICHELIN Green Star rated Stockport based restaurant Where The Light Gets In.

Functioning in an open space that combines both kitchen and dining room – the team work directly with farmers and fishermen from all over the isles creating a dining experience, sewn with the stories of those who work tirelessly from soil to shore to provide and share menus using natural ingredients.

Where The Light Gets In restaurant manager, originally from Nagoya Japan, Kemi’s role is to manage all of the guest relations, reservations and the coordination of their services with her radiant demeanour and kindness.

In her spare time she practices the beautiful Japanese Kinsugi, the art of repairing broken pottery with gold – a metaphor for embracing your flaws and imperfections.
